WHAT DOES
"MISH"
MEAN?
Mishigamaa • "Great Water"
Ojibwe
We know you're all wondering.."what the heck does MISH mean? Is it an acronym for something?"
MISH is short for the Ojibwe Native American word Mishigamaa, which is translated to"Great Water" and is where the state and the lake got their name. MISH started back in 2015 as a water sports rental business. When we first formed the business we wanted to come up with a name that had some meaning, but was also short and catchy, so Mishigamaa became just MISH (capitalized for aesthetics). As we ventured into endurance events in 2018, we thought that we'd carry through with the brand and MISH Events had a nice ring to it.
